5th Annual “Salute to Champions”

Our President & CEO Greg Hedgepeth to be honored among 2022 Class of Salute to Champions.

Raleigh NC, The Sports Shop Radio show w/Reese & Kmac is honored to announce its 2022 Salute to Champions honorees’ and highlight African American individuals who have achieved in their respective fields and/or paved the way for others. The individual areas that will be recognized are in the areas of Education/Business, Politics/Community & Sports/Entertainment. Individuals recognized have some association with the state of North Carolina.

During the month of February, these individuals will be featured during a special segment named “Salute To Champions” on The Sport Shop Radio Show w/Reese & Kmac that airs weekdays from 7AM to 10AM on 99.3 & 96.5 FM, WRALSports+ TV in Raleigh Durham and streamed online at wralsportsfan.com

The selection of the individuals was the consensus of a “Salute To Champions” Advisory Panel comprised of experts and historians in the respective areas of focus.

This year’s honorees are:

  1. Lauren Banks, Actress/Producer/Director
  2. Greg Hedgepeth, NC State Grad School Director of Mktg & Communications
  3. Charlie Milkens, Videographer
  4. Derric Gregory, VP Lowes Corporation
  5. Dr. Jamila Forte Fletcher, Pediatrician
  6. Elizabeth Overstreet, Author, Relationship Expert
  7. Donald Thompson, CEO, The Diversity Movement
  8. Chasity Melvin, WNBA Player/Coach NC Sports HOF

Please join us virutally on February 23, 2022, from 12-1 p.m. and take part in this year’s Awards Event and “Salute to Champions.” This years Keynote will be delivered by Dewayne Washington former NFL player, and philanthropist.
